How to learn Qui Gong in three steps
First of all Nice to meet you and thank you for reading this article. I hope it may help you to deepen your understanding of a healthy Quigong practice. Thats what this article is for. What is the three step approach to Quigong.
Quigong might be learned without any additional spiritualy, breathing techniques or concentration practices. In my opinion this is "dry" Quigong and its certainly not as beneficial as a combination of the most important points. You might think: "What are those points?" I will list them first and then explain every single point in digestable detail.
Dry Quigong is the form itself. Whatever form you practice may it be Daoyin Yangsheng Gong, BaduanYin or even Taiji you have to learn the set of movements first. Mastering movements is the rootstep of a healthy practice. If you are not sure wether youve mastered your set or not practice your set three times in a row. If you are out of breath and sweating like a dog, you didnt master the movements. If you feel pain, muscles are shaking and bones are aching you did something wrong. If your master is happy with the way you move, you feel great and fit after three rounds and could do even more, your breath and heartbeat are slow and regular you did a good job! Youve mastered the first of the three steps.
2) What is Chi and how could I meet it?
Breath is the gateway to your mind, your conscious and subconscious states of perception and it is closely connected to your life! Ina proper practice of Quigong breath plays a significant role. Mastering the breath will connect you to your flow of Chi after mastering point one. This process happens quite naturally if you learn how to control your breath. Breath is linked to your mind (watch it when youre angry, excited, calm or sleepy) and your mind is "riding" on your "Chi" or lifeforce. Chi makes the difference between a dead and a living creature that should be enough for now because I dont discuss "Chi" in detail here :)
So by controlling breath, you will control your mind and by controlling mind, the link of movement and mental flow gets more obvious. When you feel a sensation of connection between breath and movement within mental calmness, you did master this second step. Your practice is now manifesting as a beautifully flowing and gracious dance.
3) How to combine body and mind?
When your breath and your movements are linked together, you are on the way of diving deeper into Quigong then most of the people.
